We had an incredible time at the 2025 IHCUS National Specialty! All 3 dogs got to be involved this year and we had an action packed week.
Starting with Json, he was only entered in AKC and ASFA Lure Coursing. He made it clear that he doesn't want to play show dog anymore, so we nixed the triathlon for him. On Monday Json was 3rd in his AKC specials stake for a few more points towards his LCX3. He is now over 80% of the way there! Json also won the Performance Stake! On Tuesday, Json was 1st in the ASFA Field Champion stake and lost BOB by just one point! Json also won the ASFA performance stake! This puts him halfway to his LCM in just 9 days of running! Next up is Hattie! She was entered in AKC and ASFA Lure Coursing as well as Dual Titled Sweeps (with Co-Owner Baylie), Maturity, the National, Hound show, Sleepover Specialty, and both supported entries over the weekend. This is the most Hattie has ever shown and she did so well! She enjoyed showing and handled all the in/out of the crate like a pro! Hattie was just out of the points for both AKC and ASFA, though she showed me some beautiful moments! She is just 3 months out of her first season, and she looked great! While we didn't meet our goals in showing, she showed better and better every time in the ring and I couldn't ask for more from her! At 20 months Hattie is just 5pts, 1 major, and 1 champion defeat away from her Grand Championship. She's also just 3 singles away from her FC/DC! Last but certainly not least, Fable. I didn't quite realize all that I had signed him up for, but he rose to the occasion like it was nothing! Fable was entered in AKC/ASFA Lure Coursing, Triathlon, Dual Titled Sweeps, Rally (Excellent and Advanced), and the National (for a junior to show). Fable had a grand time assisting with QC's before field cheating his way around both the AKC and ASFA courses. Fable showed well in both the Triathlon conformation judging and in Dual Titled sweeps. Our first Rally run (Excellent) went poorly. The judge had some lovely things to say about Fable, but told me I needed to get myself sorted out. Fable and I turned things around with a 99 in Advanced B and our first High In Trial! In the second rally trial, Fable was getting tired, but still gave me his all to earn an 88 and 95 to get his first High Combined award! Finishing on his 99 Rally Advanced B score, Fable won the 2025 IHCUS National Triathlon by nearly 11pts! After some brief instructions, Fable was off with his new junior friend for the National! They looked so so good together and I'm glad Fable and his new friend had fun! The judge had kind things to say about him after the show as well, which means so much! I am beyond proud of my crew! Win or lose, I get to bring the 3 best dogs home with me!

The crew had a great time at ASFA this weekend! Json was 2nd in Field Champions on Saturday and BOB on Sunday! Fable had a grand time doing his moose-baby thing!
We started the day with the ASFA field trial. I may or may not have almost gotten my car stuck, but managed to get things sorted out!
Fable put in some surprisingly good runs to land in 4th in Field Champions after a tiebreaker. Json was on fire! He won the Field Champion stake then tied with the Open stake winner in the first breed run despite a fall from Json. After a quick blanket change on J’s part, we ran them again and Baby J put in a beautiful run to win BOB! He also won the Bench Stake, High Scoring Field Champion, and won the Kennel Stakes with Fable! So so proud of my Baby Spice! Wednesday evening the results of the Triathlon was announced and Fable placed 2nd with Json placing 3rd! So proud of my boys! We headed out to Fayetteville, AR for this year's Beezer Bash! Fable showed Friday and Saturday, and both boys ran ASFA on Friday and both days of AKC Lure Coursing Saturday and Sunday.
Fable showed well both days but didn't place in a deep quality entry. He showed happily and moved well. Both boys ran well on Friday, taking 3rd (Json) and 4th (Fable). Fable also won the performance stake! During the weekend trials Fable helped QC one of the ridgebacks and then continued to run well with Fable placing 5th and Json just out of the ribbons on Saturday. On Sunday Json placed 3rd and Fable just out of the ribbons. Hattie had so much fun hanging out and meeting everyone. She even got to do a puppy bump! The crew and I went to our very first ASFA II in Virginia! We had a lot of fun! Json placed 5th and 3rd place in some top notch competition. Fable placed 6th and 5th place. Fable also got to be the test dog for the Gillette stake and had tons of fun!
We travelled to Yellow Springs, OH to attend OKIGO's ASFA Trial. We've never been to the trial site before but it was lovely (and you could get DoorDash and UberEats delivery!). We had a great time running with great dogs and helping a friend get her two started. Json won Open on Saturday to finish his ASFA FCH! This also qualifies him to enter the Gillette Stake at the ASFA II! Fable ran well and placed 3rd in the Field Champion stake for more points towards his LCM! Sunday the boys ran well with Json placing 3rd and earning his first points towards his LCM. Fable had already figured out the field and showed his creative side! Now we have a break until the ASFA II!
Photos by Split Second Photography We travelled all the way to Pennsylvania for the UCBSC ASFA Trial and Dean's Birthday Bash this year! The weather was beautiful, the food was good, and the company even better! The boys ran so well despite the long drive up. Fable won the Field Champion stake both days, earning 20pts and 2x competitive first place finishes towards his LCM title. Json went above and beyond winning Open and Breed both days earning 24 more points (to bring him to 92pts out of the needed 100pts). Json was also the only dog at the trial who ran for Best In Field both days. I'm so proud of the boys and how they handled themselves!
We went to Limestone, TN for an ASFA trial this weekend. The weather was cold and rainy on Saturday, but gorgeous on Sunday! We had a small but power packed group of Beezers running and had a great time! On Saturday, Json won Open and then went on to win BOB! Unfortunately, due to weather and time, there was no BIF run. Sunday Json won open and had a great run for breed, but lost by one point. Fable big brained less than usual and came in 4th both days. Json is now nearly 3/4 of the way to his ASFA FCh!
We went to the Ibizan Hound Nationals again this year! We did a little bit of everything: Lure Coursing, Conformation, Rally, and Triathlon. We started our week on Tuesday with AKC Lure Coursing. Fable finished 3rd in his specials stake and Json finished 5th in his specials stake after getting run over in his finals run. After Lure Coursing Fable had the conformation portion of the Triathlon. On to Wednesday where Fable started the day by placing second in Rally Intermediate with a score of 90. Then we went on to ASFA Lure Coursing. Fable placed second in the specials stake and Json placed just out of the ribbons in his open stake. On to Thursday, the day of the National! Fable showed beautifully for me and won his class! He showed wonderfully in Winners Dog as well and earned some hoots and hollers from his antics! Friday was the supported hound show and both Fable and Json won their classes! Fable got a good look for WD, but didn't quite make the cut. Saturday was the open show and Json won his class again!
We had a great time and can't wait to go back next year! We went back to Limestone, TN for a weekend of ASFA Lure Coursing! Json was finally old enough to certify too! On Saturday Json certified with Azula (Iathe Hounds) and from watching his run, we decided to enter him in open. The weather was incredibly trying on Saturday and we had a couple delays due to visibility (we had snow, hail, sleet, freezing rain, rain, and bits of sun throughout the day). Json finished in 3rd place in open for his very first points! Fable tied with Azula they ran off with Halo (Kamar Ibizans) for BOB. Fable ended the day with the 1st place to finish his ASFA Field Championship (FCh)! He is the first out of his litter (Kamar Mind Litter) to earn both his AKC and ASFA Field Championships! Fable got moved to the FCh stake on Sunday and tied for 2nd place with Halo. After a run-off Fable ended up with a 2nd place and his first points towards his LCM. Json put in some beautiful runs and won 1st place in open! He had a great run for BOB, but came up a bit short due to him going deep into some corners and taking an outside line. He still ended his first weekend of ASFA with one competition win and almost 1/4 of the points he needs for his ASFA FCh! I'm super proud of how well the boys ran!
