On Wednesday afternoon Hattie made her Nationals Debut in Futurity! While she was a bit distracted she did wonderfully, placing second in her class. The judge had many nice things to say about Hattie and her sister!
Thursday was the day of the National Specialty itself, and the day Hattie turned 8 months old! It was a long day full of so many wonderful dogs and people. Hattie showed for the first time in the big kid ring and handled herself so well! She won her class (of 1) and went on to make the final cut in WB! Hattie also helped her dad, Spencer in the stud dog class. I was so happy with her performances and thought that was her day finished. Thankfully a friend told me Hattie would also go back in the ring for Best Puppy! Hattie was tired but held herself together and went on to win Best Puppy under esteemed hound expert Michael Canalizo! I couldn’t be more proud of my baby dog! So thankful to Meg and Baylie (Marwyn Hounds) for entrusting me with my vibrant red girl! So proud of her!

Our Rally/Obedience weekend is over! I’m so so proud of how well Fable handled himself! It’s been nearly 2 years since we’ve been at a Rally trial and neither of us have ever competed in Obedience. Fable finished the weekend going 4/4!
On Saturday Fable finished his Rally Intermediate title with a 96 and 1st place! Fable and I also ventured into the Obedience ring for the first time (for either of us) and managed a 3rd place in Beginner Novice B with a score of 190! Sunday Fable was 5th in Rally Advanced with a score of 97 today after a tie. Then Fable held himself together for Beginner Novice B to earn a 191 and 2nd place! We definitely have work to do, but I couldn’t be happier with Fable’s performance and his trust in me. Fable and I competed in our very first Dryland Mushing competition, even if it was virtual. Fable did so well despite the early morning and cool weather. We even placed 6th! Very proud of my moose puppy!
We attempted a new event! Two dog canicross! We signed up for a 10k and less than 1k into the event the boys nearly took me out completely. Unfortunately, it meant that we hobbled through the rest of the race, but we finished and the boys did so well!
Json earned his first agility titles! We entered our local AKC ACT trial where Json was entered in two runs of ACT1 Standard and two runs of ACT1 Jumpers. Json went above and beyond my expectations by qualifying in all 4 of his runs with just one fault and earning both his ACT1 and ACT1J titles! We have some more work to do before he's ready to debut in big kid agility but I'm so proud of how far he's come in such a short period of time!
After much training, assessing, and more training Fable and I finally made our Agility debut! It's been a number of years since I had a dog ready to compete in Agility, so it was a bit nerve-wracking. Fable had only been in the building one time previously (the day before) so I wasn't entirely sure what I'd have to work with. Fable settled super well and seemed unfussed with the environment. We were so close to qualifying as well! We got an 84 in our standard run (85 required to Q), and had one too many run-outs in jumpers. Overall I am THRILLED with how well Fable did! Everything that I was hoping to hit, we hit and then some! Looking forward to our next trial!
